Despite being only an hour's drive from the bustle of Moshi town, the quiet and tranquillity of Lake Chala appear a thousand lifetimes away, making it ideal for an out-of-the-ordinary day excursion. One of Kilimanjaro's caldera lakes, Lake Chala is known for its brilliantly shifting colors, ranging from the darkest blue to emerald green to azure and all shades in between. You may choose from kayaking across the border into Kenya, wandering the picturesque scenery surrounding the lake, or swimming in its clear waters (don't forget your cozzie!). It's the ideal location to repose and unwind. all three, even! The day is filled with opportunities to interact closely with one of the best.

Program ( 1 day ) Itinerary In 2024

Your delicious packed lunch will be waiting for you when your amiable guide gets to your lodging. The driver will then hurry you into the vehicle and take you to Lake Chala Safari Camp. You may spend a leisurely, pleasant hour and a half soaking in the views as you go through Moshi's daily life to the road.

Beautiful private wildlife reserve Lake Chala Safari Camp has a view of the lake. When you get there, our guide will lead you through lush, brightly green vegetation toward the lake's edge, where the water is a brilliant blue. Wear strong shoes because the area around the lake can be extremely rough. It's a breathtaking place ideal for hikers and birdwatchers, and depending on the time of year, you could even be fortunate enough to see elephants gathered at a nearby waterhole. Spend the day exploring the pathways that round the lake or the neighboring savannah, where you could come across baboons, vervet monkeys, blue monkeys, the timid dik-dik, and graceful kudu, among other animals. Spend some time relaxing by the lakeside after your climb, taking in the silence that is only sometimes interrupted.

You may go in a kayak and further explore the lake if you want to be a bit more active. As you row, you'll be serenaded by the constant chirping of birds and the soft lapping of the water. Stop at the bar for an alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverage and, if you're feeling a little peckish, an afternoon snack after your travels. You'll be taken back to Moshi in the late afternoon if you didn't want to camp by the lake (imagine a bonfire under the night sky full of stars). You'll have some "you" time during the nice journey to consider your day and consider if it would be impolite to go straight to bed when you get home. You won't believe how exhausted you'll be after a day of restoring, stress-relieving serenity.
