We travel by car to Olpopongi in the West Kilimanjaro area in the morning. Moshi is 74 kilometers away from Olpopongi. We will travel for two hours through West Kilimanjaro's stunning desert. Game like as zebras and elephants can be seen depending on the season. You'll get stunning vistas of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. Before noon, we arrive at Olpopongi, where the Maasai residents will greet us with a traditional song and dance. We stroll through the village before you check into your hut for the night. A traditional Tanzanian lunch will be provided to fuel your afternoon of thrilling activities. We pay a midwife and herbalist a visit in one of the huts later in the day. You'll discover what a Maasai village is like on a daily basis. Following this very spiritual gathering, we will have a little break during which you are welcome to browse for jewelry or enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. A bush trek to learn about unique flora and how the Maasai use them will be another highlight. A fire-making lesson, barbecue, and bonfire will round off our day before you drift off to sleep in your hut, which is 100 percent original Maasai.
In the morning, breakfast will be prepared outside for us. Following that, you have some time to snap a few last pictures of this distinctive community and the locals we visited on our journey. Following our farewells, we depart and head back to Moshi. We'll arrive in Moshi just before lunch.
