How Hard is Rongai Route ? One of the simplest ascents of Kilimanjaro, the Rongai trail softly ascends while avoiding strenuous excursions, and it is occasionally suggested for beginners. The Rongai Route's acclimatization profile suffers as a result, as it is impossible to follow the climber's maxim of "climb high, sleep low" without severe ascents, which can make climbers uncomfortable at higher altitudes. To maximize the likelihood of success, African Trek & Travel addresses this problem by providing an additional acclimatization day.

Best Time Of The Year TO Climbing Kilimanjaro
We typically suggest that the warmest and driest months of the year, which are December to mid-March and mid-June towards the end of October, are the best times to climb Kilimanjaro. Unfortunately, despite the fact that these are the months with the best weather for trekking, they also happen to be busiest. Regardless of the season, the likelihood of a significant weather change always exists.

As you approach 660m, the ascent becomes steeper and the trail loses more and more of the moor vegetation. In one of the most breathtaking locations, in a cirque under Mawenzi's sharp fangs, lies the Mawenzi Tarn Hut. For improved acclimatization, we provide you with another hike up the western ridge in the afternoon. Enjoy stunning views of Kibo if the sky is clear and you're fortunate.

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn Hut to Kibo hut

14,160 ft to 15,430 ft, 5 miles, 5-6 hours This magnificent day starts with a short backtracking before you head west, cross the ridge, and descend the hill to tiptoe along the beautiful bare Saddle's northern border. This day is the most favored day on the mountain, with vistas to the east and west that are similar to screensavers. We will travel to Kibo Campsite today, which provides you with yet another breathtaking vista of the Kibo.

You will receive a cooked meal when we get to the camp fairly early. Our guides will give you a final briefing in the afternoon to get you ready for the summit day. It's time to unwind, double-check, and have your gear and equipment ready. In order to allow you plenty of time to rest and sleep, dinner will be served fairly early. The three pillars of a successful summit are a healthy diet, plenty of hydration, and sleep. To be well-rested for your hot wake-up beverage at 11:30 p.m., we urge you to go to bed before 7 p.m.

After a hot beverage and a few biscuits, we'll begin the ascent to the summit. We start the first leg of our 6-hour ascent in the dark with nothing but our headlights and our guides to guide us. Just keep in mind the adage "pole, pole," which translates to "slowly, slowly." There are a few sights along the route that serve as milestones to break up the trek and give you some idea of your progress, including William's Point at 5.131 meters and Hans Meyer Cave at 5.259 meters.

The dawn at Gilman's Point (5.681 m) may be the most spectacular you've ever seen. We continue our ascent on a portion of the Marangu Route for another one to two hours to reach your last destination, the summit, which is the 5.985-meter-high Uhuru Peak, the highest peak in Africa. Congratulations! Right now, you are on "the roof of Africa."For your relatives and friends back home, our guides will snap pictures of you and post them on Facebook,Instagram,Tik Tok.

Due to the altitude and the cold, it is crucial to begin our descent after a short time spent at the summit. The remainder of our team will congratulate you and greet you with a cooked meal at Kibo Camp after your descent. Before we begin the subsequent descent to Horombo Hut, you will have the chance to have a rest. You can take pleasure in your dinner and your final night on the mountain after this exhausting day.
