Ngorongoro Crater Day Trip Itinerary
At 6:00 AM, be ready for pick-up from your hotel or accommodation in Arusha town. Your driver-guide will collect your picnic lunch before driving 190 km on a paved road to the Ngorongoro Conservation entry gate.
Upon arrival, you’ll drive to the Crater Rim and take in the breathtaking view from the top before descending into the crater for a full day of game drives. Ngorongoro Crater, one of the largest intact calderas in the world, is a remarkable sight and home to Africa’s famous Big Five: Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, and Elephant. You’ll also spot other wildlife like Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, and Hyena, along with a variety of birds including flamingos, geese, storks, and vultures.
Enjoy your picnic lunch at the Ngoitoktok swamp, a scenic Hippo pool, before continuing with an afternoon of wildlife viewing. By 3:00 PM, you will ascend the Crater and drive back to Arusha.
