Heritage can include agriculture, food, oral history, settlement patterns, coffee culture, banana farming and stories connected with previous generations.

The exact content depends on the village and local guide.

Chagga Heritage Around Mount Kilimanjaro

Chagga communities have long histories associated with the slopes of Kilimanjaro.

Heritage Villages Around Kilimanjaro

The cultural day can be arranged in different areas depending on the selected program.

Marangu, Uru and other Kilimanjaro villages can provide opportunities for village walking, coffee, agriculture and local history.

Local guides may share historical accounts and community stories associated with the Kilimanjaro area.

Oral heritage can vary between families and communities, so different guides may emphasise different stories and perspectives.
